I really, really like this.

If I'm using package A::B::C and A::D::C, I should be aware of the conflict 
of using "...::C".   The only potential problem could occur if B::C uses 
package "A::X", and D::C uses "B::X" and they reference the packages with 
"...::X", right?  And with some clever package loading code, this is only a 
problem if both X packages include classes of the same name.

Hmmm.  Well, it doesn't stop me from liking the shorthand.
