From: Markus Jais Date: 2001-12-06T13:51:51+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:27604] REXML: problem with xpath hello I just downloaded the newest rexml (1.2) I have the following xml document: --- Ruby Yukihiro Matsumoto Python Guido van Rossum --- and the following ruby code: --- require "rexml/document" include REXML doc = Document.new(File.new("lang.xml")) doc.elements.each("//language/*") { |element| print element.name, "\n" print element.text, "\n" } --- the output of the programm is empty. it must be a problem with the xpath-expression //language/* I am not an xpath guru, but I think this is valid (according to my books) it should return all child elements of any "language" elements of the document. I think, this worked with older versions of rexml please let me know, if I made a mistake, or the problem is in REXML although I think, that the error is with me. markus
