The serious lack in the Ruby part of SWIG 1.3.9 is the documentation.
I don't think there are many people who have the time and energy to
tackle this alone.  There is a swig wiki linked off http://www.swig.org/
and I suggest that the Perl and Python docs be cannibalized into Ruby
docs in the first instance, with the Wiki used to hold the work in
progress.
