The SWIG/Ruby entry for the RAA is very much out of date. Ruby is now an official SWIG module and is maintained by the SWIG development team (as far as I can tell, Masaki Fukushima, the original SWIG/Ruby author, is not actively involved in its development anymore). Be sure to download the latest development version of SWIG (version 1.3.9) from the SourceForge project page: http://swig.sourceforge.net and use that one. Dave Beazley hopes to release SWIG 1.3.10 sometime in January and that version will be even better for Ruby. > That would be a pitty, because I was just so pleased about how well it > seemed to work. SWIG support for Ruby is very good indeed. If you're developing C/C++ extensions for Ruby, it's well worth the investment of your time to learn to use SWIG. I'm using it to generate the wrapper code for FXRuby and I think more and more Ruby extension writers are discovering and using SWIG as well.
