I've mailed with the guy doing the Ruby SVG lib. It seems to be ok with
him if we build on his stuff and pack it up for RAA as long as he can take
a peek and its under Ruby's license. See his answer below.

I'm not sure about SVG 1.0/1.1 conformance but IMHO his Ruby SVG is a
good design and well implemented so probably good to base on that.

I started doing some Chart classes that would output SVG but then other
projects took over so not really useful. But I think a lot of good stuff
can be built on top of a good SVG4R library. So please go ahead! I'd be
willing to comment and submit small pieces of code every now and then...

In case you decide to build on his stuff I can mail you a tarball.
