Subject: [ruby-talk:27458] Select isn't broken (was FileTest.exist? behaviour)
Hmmm
Ok, hands up on this one, I'm a fuckwit.
I've been having problems with strange behaviours in ruby because I'm
using an nfs mounted filesystem with different mountpoints on
different machines - which can make things quite nasty - especially as
the behaviour of ruby's Dir.chdir method appears architecture
dependent (see
this thread.
So, thinking I had the same sort of problem, I spent the whole morning
examining ruby source, and then found that the file in question which
is giving the problems was a link to a file that didn't exist. Duh!
Sorry folks, select isn't broken!
