Once again my ignorance of all things networky bite me. Can anybody 
explain what this message might mean?

/usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/ftp.rb:350:in `gethostbyname': getaddrinfo: 
No address associated with nodename (SocketError)
         from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/net/ftp.rb:350:in `getaddress'
