From: Harry Ohlsen Date: 2001-12-02T05:38:59+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:27220] HTML message content I'm currently using pan as my news reader. The version I have doesn't understand HTML, so posts formatted as HTML are almost unreadable (there's so much HTML compared to the amount of content that it's impossible to see the wood for the trees). I've tried a couple of times to upgrade, but hit infinite library upgrade issues (ie, to use this you need this, which needs this, which ...). Is there any way the news server could be set up to automatically remove the HTML tags, so that all that ends up in the messages is the content? Alternatively, can anyone point me at an X-based news reader that's available for linux that can handle the HTML content? Worst case, I guess I'll upgrade from 7.1 to 7.2 of Redhat, which hopefully would have the requisite libraries (and might even have a version of pan that does the HTML). It's just always a hassle to do that. TIA
