Only a couple of meta-suggestions.

(1) Use a more descriptive subject line. Many people (sometimes or
typically) don't have time to read all the posts and just look at the posts
whose subject lines relate to their area of interest or expertise.

(2) It might not matter in this case, but you didn't mention the usual
information about what Ruby version, OS/level, compiler, $LOAD_PATH, and so
on were used. Remember, this is the NON-psychic friends network. :-)
