From: "k.mckinlay" Date: 2001-12-01T03:37:14+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:27105] ANN: YAUT Oh no, not Yet Another Unit Tester. Well, yes and no. This is an update of an entry already in the RAA (walkit). From the docs: "Presently there are moves to produce a standard unit tester, taking the existing applications into account. I've produced 3 tools, DemoTk, AtavisTk, and AnalyTk which I hope others will find useful as this process progresses, both for their inherent functionality, and also as an opportunity to evaluate alternatives to the app they presently use. DemoTk is a Tk GUI to run unit tests (- including Lapidary, RubyUnit, walkit -), reloading the test class and script for each run. AtavisTk is a Tk GUI to let you compare different unit testers by selecting individual asserts for all 3 apps to run. AnalyTk is a Tk GUI to run the same module of test scripts under each app. The most convenient way to achieve these aims, and look to the future, was to produce Yet Another Unit Tester. Although this seems contradictory to the aim of merging the existing apps, I'm putting it forward as a replacement of the existing 'walkit' scripts. I shouldn't think many people will be affected (!) and it has given me the opportunity of starting with a clean slate in some areas." The download is about 120K, but that's because I've been lazy and used screen snapshots rather than spend a lot of time labouring over words.
