This works too:

exec "C:/Program Files/JGSoft/EditPadLite/EditPad.exe", "C:/tmp/foo.txt"

Note the difference between #exec and #system: system blocks and returns 
when the child is done, but exec causes the current process to be 
replaced with the child.
