Does this include cultural ancestors, or just direct ancestors?  Do you 
have to honor your enemy's ancestors?  I'm not speaking metaphorically 
here; I'm actually asking about the Japanese culture :-)

I know Perl is a direct ancestor of Ruby, but what, specifically, did Ruby 
inherit from Python?
