I'd like to say for the record, after just two days of really delving into Ruby, I'm really sold on the concept of scripting and, as you say, optimizing in C where necessary. I don't see the benefit of "big" languages like C++ anymore, if the idea is just to get stuff done. Ruby's elegance is really one of the wonders of the world, to me. I can so quickly prove concepts and get them working that I wonder what is left to do after the concepts are proven. :) Sincerely, Bob Calco
