hello

I have the following code:

require "rexml/document"
include REXML

doc = Document.new("<parent/>")
rt = doc.root
elem = Element.new("child")
elem.text = "a little kid"
rt << elem
doc.write($stdout)
-----

document#write has a default paramater indent = 0
I thought that without supplying this paramter the document
will not be intendet.
but I have to pass -1 to achive that the document is not indented.
the reason for this is in 
element#write_children: the function is defined like this:

def write_children( writer, indent )

in this function is a test on the value of the paramter "indent"
if it is -1, then there is no indention, otherwise the xml output
will be indented.

my question: is this like it should be??
I think the default behaviour, when not specifying a value for indent
in document#write, should be writing the output without indentation

any hints on this??
