Might need the "zero width pos/neg look_behind_ assertion" for
that one.  :-)   Not supported in Ruby yet AFAIK...

Alternatively, what about:

x, ext, ext2 = mbox.scan(/[^-]+/)
puts "#{mbox},#{ext}-#{ext2},#{ext2}"
