I'm autistic, so I may not have the whole social pattern down.  However, in
my experience, if I'm asking people to do me a favor, I generally find that
insulting them doesn't make them more likely to help me.  (And, thanks to
my trial-and-error approach to social skills, that is the voice of experience
speaking.)
