Subject: [ruby-talk:25797] REXML question. cloning documents

hello

I have the following code:

require "rexml/document"
include REXML

doc = Document.new(File.new("something.xml"))
doc.write($stdout)  
clo = doc.clone
clo.write($stdout)  # does not write anything
clo2 = Document.new(doc)
clo2.write($stdout)   # same problem here

the problem is in the last line and two lines before
I thougt that

clo.write($stdout)

would print the xml file to stdout, as does 

doc.write($stdout)

because I cloned it
same problem when I bild a new document with
clo2 = Document.new(doc)

I have the latest version of REXML

can anybody tell me what my mistake is??
