Subject: [ruby-talk:25753] Misunderstanding or bug?



 $ ruby -rsocket -e "TCPSocket.new('localhost','ftp').recvfrom(30)"
  -e:1:in `recvfrom': getnameinfo: ai_family not supported (SocketError)

This happens with ruby 1.6.5 (2001-11-08) and 1.7.2 under a Linux 2.4.
It works fine under 1.7.2 on an older Linux box.
