Subject: [ruby-talk:25481] "cvs commit" from within ruby

I am trying to commit a file from within a ruby script (automation
rules!). Now the invoking
  system('cvs commit -m "hello" myfile') or
does not work. Executing this from command line (of course) does work.
On the other hand
  system("cvs update") and
  system("cvs tag -F myTag myfile")
work as exepcted!

Unfortunately I don't get to see the error message of my try to commit.
Why does commit not work as a system-call?
