I've written a FindBin module, which is essentially a simplified port of Perl's FindBin. To achieve it, I also had to code an abs_path method which turns any path into an absolute path with all symbolic links resolved (as opposed to File#expand_path, which doesn't follow links). I'd like to contribute these snippets of code, but being a ruby newbie (hey, that rhymes :-) I'm not sure what the best approach is. My colleague suggested that abs_path might go in ftools, and findbin.rb in the Ruby Application Archive.
