Ruby/DBI (RAA entry Library -> Database -> Ruby/DBI) is a database independet interface, similar to Perl's DBI. It currently supports the following databases: * ADO (ActiveX Data Objects) * IBM DB2 UDB * InterBase * mSQL * MySQL * ODBC * Oracle * PostgreSQL * Proxy/Server (TCP/IP) * SQLite * SQLRelay MySql and PostgreSQL are tested best and have the most functionallity. Changes between 0.0.10 and 0.0.11: ---------------------------------- * New database driver for SQLite (embedded SQL database) * New database driver for SQLRelay * Mysql: Fixed quoting for DBI::Binary and Strings * PostgreSQL: - improved Database#ping - Database specific attribute: pg_client_encoding - Database specific functions: blob_import, blob_export, blob_create, blob_open, blob_unlink, blob_read - You can now easily insert DBI::Binary (BLOBs) into a table. DBI calls automatically imports the large object and inserts the returned OID into the column. * DB2: - supply method Database#do - now works with parameter markers * Improved sqlsh.rb: added commands \dt (describe table) \s (short for select * from tablename) and \pl (page length). Ruby/DBI's homepage is at: http://www.ruby-projects.org/dbi You can subscribe to the Ruby/DBI mailing list at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ruby-dbi-talk Regards, Michael -- Michael Neumann merlin.zwo InfoDesign GmbH http://www.merlin-zwo.de
