From: Tobias DiPasquale Date: 2001-11-10T10:11:51+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:24813] Ruby on alpha? Matz (or anyone who knows), I was just building Ruby 1.6.5 on my Alpha (RH Linux 5.2, kernel 2.0.35, egcs 2.90.29 980515, AXP (alpha) EV4 processor (EB64+ evaluation board), 275MHz) and I got the following weird messages during the ./configure: > % ./configure --enable-shared --with-default-kcode=utf8 > creating cache ./config.cache > checking host system type... Invalid configuration `alpha-unknown-linux-': machine `alpha-unknown-linux' not recognized > > checking target system type... Invalid configuration `alpha-unknown-linux-': machine `alpha-unknown-linux' not recognized > > checking build system type... Invalid configuration `alpha-unknown-linux-': machine `alpha-unknown-linux' not recognized > .... blah, blah, blah... It goes on to finish properly and make fine, but I was wondering why Alpha is not recognized by the configure? What sort of autoconf (if any) are you using?
