I have just seen a very interesting site from activestate:

according to these site, beta implemenatitions are already availabe for 
python and perl.

ruby should be coming soon according to this article.

does anybody know more, that is is there already a ruby implementation???

I think it is a good idea to have a common API for Perl, PHP, Python and 
Ruby.
this will give scripting languages in general a boost in web-services
and hopefolly we can use cool languages such as Ruby or Python
instead of  Java/C++/C#

If anybody has more information on this, I really would appreciate a short
hint
