The example of ini file is below. So yes, you can use Ruby for Sysadmin work. BUT, you need to know what you want the program to do and put the time in. The cleanup program was my second program in Ruby. Writing a program, that you need, is the best way to learn a language. I find that following a book is confusing at times. If you want a copy of the program, let me know. Document is a not done yet. from ini file [rlinder_IV] rootdir=C:/Program Files/InternetVelocity/Cache Move_Empty_Dir=Yes Move_Empty_File=Yes archive_dir=c:/ARCHIVE report_dir=c:/ARCHIVE File_CTime_Age_Days=5 File_CTime_Age_Hours=0 File_CTime_Age_Mins=0 File_CTime_Age_Secs=0 Always_Move_Suffix=.tmp Always_Move_Dir04=finance.yahoo.com Always_Move_Dir10=jobs.brainbuzz.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sridhar M" Newsgroups: comp.lang.ruby To: "ruby-talk ML" ; Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2001 14:42 Subject: [ruby-talk:24581] Is Ruby good for SysAdmin Automation Scripting > Hi, > I want to know if Ruby is suitable for SysAdmin Task automation > scripts and > CGI scripts, similar to Expext and Tcl.
