Were you looking at the printed book or the online version?
Unfortunately, #arity changed, and the code example online is generated
using the newer version of Ruby. So, it depends on whether you're
using an older or newer Ruby as to whether you should believe the text
or the code.

It's not ideal, but I wanted to use a recent Ruby to format the online
code examples just so we could find these kind of problems. When we
update the book to 1.8 we'll change the text.
