Uhm, I didn't say that *I* was going to be ignoring :-).

Please consult an attorney if you wish for an interpretation of a license. Tom
Christianson, the source of the misinformation that you are spreading, is not 
an attorney.

I am coming at this from an engineer's point of view, not from an ideological 
axe-grinding point of view. I am interested in whether the technology is 
appropriate and useful for our purposes, not in whether its license is 
ideologically pleasing to a certain subset of "license fanatics" in the Perl 
and BSD crowd. If the license would preclude using it for our application, 
then the license becomes an issue. But the fact is that running 'doxygen' or 
'system("doxygen") is quite legitimate use of doxygen under the GPL, whether 
you are doing it at the command line or from a program.
