Ubuntu is a Debian derivative, so all you need to do is apt- > get install whatever you want. LOL, for one, no I don't know the first thing about Ubuntu, however, I *DO* know how to use rpmfind to get more info on zlib.... I've done that even for my Gentoo stuff, which, as I'm sure you know, uses the emerge portage system....... I'll get an error that a library is missing, I'll search (yes, even on rpmfind), find out what contains the library and then emerge it in if need be... I am one of those quirky types that researches the errors I get from whatever source I can. Meaning, I've had issues on my Gentoo box where I've Googled and found solutions on other distro forums.
