Isn't this weird?

    # test2.rb

    def test2
    end

    def test
      p = proc {}
      puts block_given?
      test2(&p)
      puts block_given?
    end

    test

[niklas@mossad scratch]$ ruby-165 --version
ruby 1.6.5 (2001-09-19) [i686-linux]
[niklas@mossad scratch]$ ruby-165 test2.rb
false
true

In ruby 1.7.1 it works as you would expect:

klas@mossad scratch]$ ruby --version
ruby 1.7.1 (2001-10-22) [i686-linux]
[niklas@mossad scratch]$ ruby test2.rb
false
false
