I couldn't help feel that I am looking at the "innards" of the language, which view I'm trying to avoid at all costs. At other times they look to me like those construction scaffoldings around buildings, evidence of something unfinished. It didn't take me long to decide I'd rather program in Ruby. Still, I haven't done much programming in Ruby. I'm a database application developer, and the next thing I do after "Hello, World" is a mailing list. If a language does not have good support for database access, commercial/business programming has little use for it. How's RubyDBI coming along? Since this is a thread on what one likes about a programming language, I am very much taken by the new kid on the block: Curl. What do you think of Curl? rmc
