I don't get it, it exists, it works, it can be compiled, ruby source distrib
comes
with win32 support, it is just that there is not official packaged version
for it.
The problem that makes is that when you try to download a precompiled lib
for win32
from RAA you keep getting in dynamic linking issues when using the cygwin
version.
Dave and Andy's installable distribution is great in that it comes with a
lot of libs
but one may want to install more and there comes the problem.  Also if you
have cygwin
installed on your system, you specifically do NOT want to use a cygwin based
version,
otherwise everytime you download a new version of either cygwin or ruby you
get in conflict
between cygwin dll versions.  Those are usually easily solved by copying the
more recent
version on top of the older but it is not possible if you happen not to be
admin of your
box and the old version is the one which comes with cygwin.
