Correct. My definition of "reasonably" is, "Complete application, when 
zipped, fits on a 1.44mb floppy". This is for reasons of portability 
(so-called "Sneakernet"). You can't fit Java onto a 1.44mb floppy. Heck, the 
runtime alone is over 60mb! By comparison, Ruby is teensy.

Note that I made no (zero) attempt to strip out stuff that I didn't need for 
my application to get that 1mb size for Ruby's runtime. That's just the plain 
old default Ruby 1.6.4 as compiled straight from source on a Red Hat 7.1 
Linux box, plus some modules I needed for my application (MySQL, drb, and 
statfs).
