Subject: [ruby-talk:24015] OT: Release soon!

Hello!

	I'm making OpenSSL for Ruby. When I started I know about
	SSLsocket from GOTOU Yuuzou. I started quietly without any infos
	to comp.lang.ruby.

	With new version of SSLSocket I find out that Yuuzou is
	duplicating my work. I've been forced to release my project
	(despite of very low functionality).

	This is how the 'OpenSSL for Ruby' was born. I saved everything
	with speed of releasing and mails to Yuuzou.

	Now Yuuzou and I are merging our projects. I merged his into
	mine. During this operation I deleted 45% of his code!!!

	
	Yesterday I received this mail:

I've been working on a ruby openssl module for a little while now & just
noticed your project.  I was waiting to have my project 90% complete
before releasing it to the public.  Unfortunately my hesitation may have
led to duplicated effort on both our parts.  Hopefully we can merge our
modules together to avoid extra work for either of us.

If your interested please let me know.

	PLEASE!!!

	Before you start your project - make sure that nobody else is
	doing the same thing.

	Publish your plan in Ruby talk and on 'comp.lang.ruby'. Make
	sure that you're not duplicating work!

	And then: release soon (even with little or no functionality)
	just to make sure that somebody is not duplicating your work.

	PLEASE!! Make sure that you're not duplicating somebody's work
	and make sure that you're not wasting your time...
