Thanks to everybody for the answers to my simple questions. Thanks Matz =
for Ruby.

The result - probably the most powerful 35 lines of code I have ever =
written!!  I program that will spider a website and produce static pages =
from dynamic ones, allowing you to template you website using php or asp =
and then generate static pages that have less server overhead and search =
engines like. If anyone want it I can send it to them.  (I am a ruby =
beginner so it's probably not pretty ;-) ).

There was a thread going here on why people like languages a couple of =
days ago.  I think the time finally comes, you are in the right frame of =
mind, or something tweaks your interest.  I picked up ruby because it =
was mentioned on slashdot and then I started reading the book.  In the =
last year I have 'played' with perl & python but ruby I just liked, it =
was mostly familiar ( I mostly write C++ and COM and VB from front ends =
with some asp and VB script ) and so powerful,  and it introduced some =
really nice new things to play with.

For my next project I am thinking of wrapping ruby objects to allow com =
invocation via IDispatch so you can call then from VB and asp etc, been =
thinking about that for a week of so and am pretty sure I know a =
straight forward way to do it. Is anybody working on that?
