Maybe.  I think what he wants must be "all string creation done via
String.new".  In theory, it's possible in a way described in
[ruby-talk:23727].  But I'm not sure how serious he was.

For me, it sounds like mere possibility.  I consider "Class#allocate"
to be the solution for this request (String#allocate can be used as
creation hook).
