Hmmm, that sounds like someone I know...wait, me!!  I've been guilty of
"releasitis" with RubyGems, hehehe.

But it might be good if they released something so we could help them
out.  But maybe it isn't an entirely bad thing if we have various groups
working on new faster implementations of Ruby.  Look at all the various
JVMs.  Of course in the long run it might be better if all these groups
collaborated and put together one awesome Ruby.  For example if one
group has an awesome dynamic compiler and another a great generational
GC they could combine them to make something even better.  Well, we'll
see.  It certainly is an exciting time for Ruby!
