Making progress on my game engine and starting to implement persistence and editor features, i need a way to store / edit script information. I embeded the RUBY interpreter into my C++ Game engine, exporting some game classes so that they can be used in the script code. Game Objects are derived from exported C++ classes in ruby... Now i want to know in the C++ Side of the engine which classes exist in the Ruby Script which are derived from a special Ruby Class name .... To complicated ? ok c++: class Object { }; SCRIPT_EXPORT( Object as GObject) ruby: class SpaceShip < Rs::GObject def initialize() end end s1 = SpaceShip.new() s2 = SpaceShip.new() now in C++ I want to have somthing like this QueryScriptObjectClasses( vector & names ) which should then contain "SpaceShip" Then I would need a method that returns the variable names of all SpaceShip classes QueryScriptObjectInstances( vector& vars,"SpaceShip") which should then store in the vars "s1" and "s2" Is that possible from the C++ side ? That would be great .... Ok the next thing after that i have a give instance name retrieved from QueryScriptObjectInstances i would need to enumerate the methods, parameters, and variables this class instance has also from the C++ side ...... GetObjectMethods( "s1",vector methods ) GetObjectVariables( "s1",vector variables, vector types ); With that i could serialize all script objects automatically, send them over the network ,and create a great script editor... HOpe anyone can help Bernhard GLck
