you could add an eval() into your example code, so that:

    t = BlockTest.new
    t.process { "var = #{out_of_scope_var}" }
    out_of_scope_var = "daniel"
    p t.myblock.call

would become:

    t = BlockTest.new
    t.process { "var = #{eval('out_of_scope_var'}" }
    out_of_scope_var = "daniel"
    p t.myblock.call
