During my installation, I've got the same problems ( including the
final error message ). Following Michael's HOWTO leads me to the next
problem: I can't build the mysqlclient. "make" produces several error
messages.

In the existing mysql/lib/opt directory is a file named
"mysqlclient.lib" but no "mysqlclient.dll". "libmySQL.lib" has its
correspondent "libmySQL.dll". Changing "mysql.c" manually from
"mysqlclient" to "libmySQL" brings me through the installation without
errors but ends in "Win32 error 1157" when trying to use it.

It seems, that a mysqlclient.dll is needed. But how to get?
