I'm not quite sure, but I think between "" a \ should always be escaped.

irb(main):001:0> "test/page".scan(/\//)
["/"]
irb(main):002:0> "test\\page".scan(/\\/)
["\\"]

irb(main):009:0> print "test\\page"
test\pagenil
