Can you help me to set a text mark?

from tktext.rb....

TkTextMark.new(parent, index)

I assume
What is "index"? I assume it is the line.char position where I want the mark 
to be set.

    tk_call @t.path, 'mark', 'set', @id, where
  end

What is "where"?  I am guessing that it is a new index for an existing 
instance of TkTextMark.
