Why would I care about keeping an object anonymous when I'm leaving that scope anyway? I guess in an inline lambda function it might be appropriate. 'tap' is what it's likely to be used for most of the time. I'd call it 'k', personally, maybe with an alias to 'tap' or 'tee'. I would like to see it in standard Ruby.
