From: Christian Szegedy Date: 2001-10-10T04:09:27+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:22335] 64 bit Ruby successfully compiled under AIX 4.3 It turned out that the strange errors occured at the compilation of Ruby were caused by a simple error: The configure script generated a makefile (using the --whithout-gcc switch) which defined the include path to contain /usr/local/include, which is not suitable for 64 bits. I deleted this compile directive from the Makefile and it compliled whithout problems. Please, ignore my previous mail on the problems. I don't know whether this is a local problem on my machine, that one should not include /usr/local/inlcude or it generally applies to any AIX installation, if one uses xlc or vac instead of gcc. -- A society that will trade a little order for a little freedom will lose both, and deserve neither. --Thomas Jefferson
