I agree with Nat. And give him two points for using the word "balkanise." As for my suggestion: 1. Build a simple list of regular expressions for a spam filter. (We can add to this incrementally as needed.) 2. Build what is similar to an "anti-stoplist" which includes expressions that make a post *valid* -- even the single word "Ruby" would be enough IMO. Then if a post just happened to mention Britney Spears (like this one), it would be permitted to pass thru *as long as* it contained the word "Ruby." (I don't think a spambot would ever catch on to this unless there was an active intelligence behind it.) Hal
