This probably snuck in through the newsgroup -> mail gateway. There is
no security on netnews (clr is not moderated), and the gateway just
passes on what it receives. I _could_ arrange that the gateway only
passes on messages to the mailing list from people who are registered
on the list, but then you would fail to see all the legitimate
messages from people who just use the newsgroup to discuss Ruby.

Are there other steps we could take?
