And I refuse to discuss Microsoft with people like me. I am a developer and I love my work. I have to admit I also work for the money. This money I get from other people that chose to use Windows. If I wrote for Linux or the Mac or whatever, I'd have to start delivering pizza since here in Caracas, where I live, there is NO presence of alternative platforms in businesses that do manufacturing. Oh, there are plenty of AS400s, big iron HPs and such, but those are yet another target. Web related business do use other platofrms, though. To me it is obvious that many of us are in the same situation: disliking MS but having to work VERY closely with them in order to be able to get work done. I thought that was the reason for having a Windows version of Ruby in the first place. Well, I cold use Ruby.NET right now instead of using C#. So this is not about Microsoft, but about USERS of Microsoft products. Hundreds of users that didn't decide on the OS they are using. Users that would benefit from my application if I was able to write it more robust and I answered to their requirements faster. And why exactly is it that we dislike MS ? For me is that they had never listened to what we developers asked for and the contempt with which they regard us (me). Well, the contempt is still there, but .NET is almost all I asked for, so I am actually happy with MS for now. I will use it to make my Windows users happy. I hate it that I don't have Ruby for .NET, but I have Python and C#. That will have to do for now, until Takahashi san advances his project some more.
