Subject: [ruby-talk:22132] Possible to iterate on two enumerables together?

If I have two enumerables, is there a ruby way to connect them? That is, I
want to march through the two collections and operate on pairs of items. The
best I came up with was to convert each one to an array and then iterate on the
index.

In pseudocode, what I'd like to do is:

for item in enumerable1, otherItem in enumerable2 do
   do something with corresponding item and otherItem			    
end

I do NOT want:

for item in enumerable1 do
  for otherItem in enumerable2 do
	all possible pairs of items
  end
end
