It's relevant to the use of the CLR which is very similar to java although
slightly
more flexible (but not that much, see the activeState articles on their work
on
perl and python).
By the way parrot is probably an excelent idea since it is meant for just
languages as dynamic as ruby and it will have a GC.  But like you said this
is long term stuff.
