That would make me sad.  I just know I would have a lot more trouble  
finding code that way.

Where would a library like Ruport go, post split?  It's a general  
reporting library, but it also has a Rails plugin and sees a lot of  
usage in that realm.  Worse, who gets to make that call?

Would we then have two primary gem repositories?  That wouldn't make  
resolving dependancies any easier, I don't think.

POE is just one of several successful Perl frameworks stored on the  
CPAN.  People write extensions just for it and put those on the CPAN  
too, so this model seems proven to function OK.

I see nothing but pain from a move like this and have yet to be made  
aware of any advantage I can understand.  You may be right and  
someone-not-me could certainly make it happen, but I'm sure hoping  
they don't.  I hope they at least discuss the potential drawbacks  
with us here before they try to make it happen.
