I like ruby elsif.
I dont want another syntax.

One addition though:

You left out the indented Python version.
Python's ability to omit end keywords can be really nice
visually, as you can simply leave them out. This gets
especially nice when you do nest multiple ifs/elsifs and
need to put end at each of them.
(But then again Python has some other bigger flaws than that as well)
