Not to dis this posters answer, but what does "local" really mean these days. If a coder is "off planet", then I would be a little worried about latency issues, but barring that, I would say we are all "local" nowdays. I've only met two or three coders who were interesting to look at, and in the unlikely event you need to look at one there is always video chat.
